Borgo Divino and the Maiano estate: naturally organic

The close bond between organic farming and Gianfranco Nigi dates back to 1984, when he implemented a project in Montespertoli which was to culminate in the Maiano Estate in 2000. As well as organic wine, the estate also produces oil, beer, vinegar and durum wheat, from which we make our organic pasta of ancient Montespertoli grains.

Come and taste our organic Chianti wines. Tenuta Maiano uses the area's ancient farming techniques instead of chemical products, guaranteeing an authentic wine with an unmistakable flavour.

The Maiano Estate was initially founded with the acquisition of the first hectares of vineyards at San Quirico in Collina. Later on, with the aim of diversifying production, additional vineyards were purchased in the Municipality of Scansano, where we produce our “Morellino di Scansano D.O.C.G.”. Operations are subdivided between five cellars (four given over to fermentation and one to storage) and two field management centres. Today, the Maiano Estate can count on 65 hectares of vineyards.

Wine lovers cannot possibly miss the tour of our wine cellar complete with a tasting session. A unique occasion to familiarize with Tuscan Chianti wines, which are still produced according to the ancient methods of the region, and the rules of organic farming.
